Addressing Antibiotic Resistance Video Production

Antibiotic resistance represents a critical threat to global health, resulting in prolonged hospital stays, elevated medical costs, and increased mortality rates. Despite its severity, public understanding of this issue remains limited, with widespread misconceptions about antibiotics and their impact on human immunity.

The Challenge

Our client, a leading healthcare organisation dedicated to promoting public health awareness, commissioned a video production project to educate the general public about the critical issue of antibiotic resistance (AMR) and its impact on human immunity. With antibiotic resistance becoming a global health threat, the client aimed to raise awareness about the misuse and overuse of antibiotics, as well as the importance of prudent antibiotic use to preserve their effectiveness.

Our Approach

Educate Viewers

Provide a clear explanation of what antibiotic resistance is, how it develops, and its consequences on human health.

Raise Awareness

Highlight the factors contributing to antibiotic resistance, including over prescription, misuse, and improper disposal of antibiotics.

Promote Action

Encourage viewers to take proactive steps to combat antibiotic resistance by using antibiotics judiciously, completing prescribed courses, and consulting healthcare professionals for guidance.

Understanding Antibiotic Resistance

Antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria evolve and adapt to survive exposure to antibiotics, rendering these medications ineffective in treating bacterial infections. Factors contributing to antibiotic resistance include over prescription, inappropriate use of antibiotics in agriculture, and the spread of resistant bacteria through healthcare settings and communities. Without effective antibiotics, common infections become more difficult to treat, leading to increased morbidity and mortality rates.

Stages

Pre-Production

In this stage, we define budgets and the project’s scope, create scripts and storyboards, develop a timeline for the production and post-production phases that will follow, scout locations and talent, source equipment and more.

Script Analysis

Our team conducted extensive research on antibiotic resistance, consulting medical professionals and reviewing scientific literature to ensure accuracy and credibility in the script.

Storyboarding

Visual sequences were conceptualised and organised into a storyboard, outlining key scenes, transitions, and visual elements to convey the narrative effectively.

Sketching and Visualisation

Sketches and concept art were created to visualize the look and feel of the video, helping to refine the artistic direction and style.

02

Production

The video shoot captured a combination of footage, interviews with medical experts, and animated sequences to illustrate complex concepts in a visually engaging manner. Behind-the-scenes footage captured the camaraderie and teamwork of the production crew, showcasing the creative process and dedication involved in bringing the project to life.

Post-Production

Final edits with audio & sound Effects, the editing process involved assembling the footage, adding music, voiceovers, and sound effects to enhance the emotional impact and narrative flow of the video. Color correction and visual effects were applied to ensure a polished and professional finish.
